Service Description
This is a course we are so excited to offer where students can learn the best way most of us can with a hands on floor tiling experience! Smaller scale and tiny bit of wood team up to bring each this class together and also help give the shop bathroom and much needed makeover. Day 1 Background info: 30 min Subfloor / Floor Structure Concrete backer board or membrane Mortar vs Grout Tile and grout aren't waterproof / sealers Ceramic / porcelain / peel/stick tile types Cutting Tile Demo - 10 min clippers / tile saw Backbuttering / mortar spreading - 15 min Tooth distance on a trowel and how to find the info about how big your trowel lines should be The need for creating space for excess mortar (the knife line after troweling) Show with two pieces of glass pressed together why back buttering is necessary (mortar on one side, vs mortar on 2 sides and suction) Layout- 15 -20 min How to layout (starting from door frame, thinking about lines or patterns) Using spacers Do it - 1 hour - 90 min Take 1-2 ppl in to lay a couple tiles at a time Others can be tiling concrete board samples with habitat tile samples Day 2 Second Day: 90 min - 2 hours Grout Learning grout / grout trowel Have them grout their sample boards Grout the bathroom in shifts Show them how to wash the grout appropriately If you have any questions at all please email www.tinybitofwood@gmail.com

Cancellation Policy
If you must cancel your reservation, please do so as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue refunds or move students to a different class time for scheduling conflicts . The number of people asking to move their reservations is simply too high that the school can not afford to accommodate this and still keep class fees affordable. We do occasionally have a waitlist for classes, if someone is able to take your place you can be refunded or moved to a different class. Feel free to ask but again this is not guaranteed. Alternatively if you can not make it to your scheduled class you can always find someone you know to take your place.
