All the membership details
The school has a total of 4 wheels two of which are wheelchair accessible and can also be raised to throw standing up. 3 of the wheels can also rotate for left handed folks because inclusivity is very important to us here.
To start we will be doing first come first serve for all equipment but if you can only use the stand up wheel for example please just shoot us an email and we can hold it to insure you get to use it.
Access& Hours:
Thursday from 11-5:30pm
Tuesday from 5-9pm
Saturdays from 11-6pm. (Some dates may be excluded for special events but will be replaced with another date and members will be notified ahead of time.
This is a grand total of 88 hours of studio access per month!
Membership does NOT include clay. Clay can be bought for $40-45 for a 25lb bag or members can bring their own. If members want to bring their own clay that is not our studio clay, an extra $20 fee is charged per bag. Clay must be pre-approved to meet firing standards. The fee is there to account for firing costs and it is also built into the cost of studio clay.
Members must clean/wipe down tools, work surfaces, buckets, equipment that they have used. We need to monitor when we come in to check on the studio/supplies
Guidelines on how to clean in membership handbook
The school kiln will be fired on a schedule that will be shared with members so you know when your projects will be done. This will be done 4 times a month when the kiln is full to help ensure we can keep class fees here affordable. Members can not operate the kiln for individual projects
Members are absolutely not allowed to use/touch any woodshop equipment.
Membership is not appropriate for production work.
Bring A Friend!
For every month that you purchase a membership, you will receive one Bring A Friend (BAF) pass. This allows you to bring a friend for free to create together in the clay studio and to show them what Tiny Bit Of School is all about. You can opt to share your clay with your friend or they can purchase a 5lb bag of clay for $10 from Tiny Bit of School in order to have any work fired in the kiln. Members cannot bring guests once their monthly BAF pass has been used. Please give us at least a 48 hr heads up if you are planning on using your BAF pass.
Storage: Members will have access inside the kiln room to store any works in progress but must take anything with them if they do not renew membership. Any work left for longer than 3 months will be sold up front and revenue made will be put back into the school.
Prerequisites: Must have taken one full month of clay club to qualify for membership unless cleared by staff to bypass this requirement. For example already has ample experience with all equipment and facilities
*no cancellation/refunds unless under extraordinary circumstances or 4 weeks in advance of start date.
