Carving Mallet

A key tool for every toolbox!

  • 75 US dollars
  • 507 East Shiawassee Street

Service Description

A good carving mallet is key for any toolbox, it is even better when you can say that you made it yourself! Sometimes a hammer is too loud and hard and a rubber mallet is too soft, but a wooden mallet is just right. In this class you will get to pick between several different types of wood to give it your own design. The pictured mallet is walnut and cherry, one of my favorite combinations. We will also learn how to make a wooden wedge and how that will hold the handle in place. We will use a combination of hand tools and power tools in this class and every student will have their own workstation. This class is wheelchair accessible. Sitting workbenches available upon request. Deaf and hard-of-hearing friendly. Interpreter available upon request.
