Hand Plane Restoration

Service Description

I love old tools and chances are they were made way higher quality than ones today but can get a little rusty sitting around. You can find old Stanley at almost every antique store and garage sale you go to and in this class we will get it working like new. In this 3 hour class we will learn how to remove any rust that might be on the plane or blade, flatten the bottom to ensure that it works like it should and sharpen blade so it cuts like butter. We will also go over all the parts of the hand plane and tips for what kinds and things to look for when you are out searching for your next one cause you’re hooked! To make this class even juicier, I will have several antique hand planes in the shop if you want to just purchase one here to restore in class. One stop shop! As a pre curser, we will get as much restoration done to your tool as we can in the amount of time we have in class. So if your plane is in really rough shape you might have to put some more elbow grease in it when you get home

Cancelation Policy

Class sizes are limited! If you must cancel your reservation, please do so as soon as possible to allow for someone else to take your place! The following Cancellation Policy applies when participants are not canceling their attendance due to a COVID-19 related issue. If you have registered for a Tiny Bit of School workshop and you are no longer able to attend, our cancellation policy is as follows: -A full refund is available up to 7 days before your scheduled workshop date. -A 50% refund is available for cancellations submitted 1-6 days before the scheduled workshop date. -No refund will be issued for same-day cancellations. An exception will be made for an unexpected illness, and a refund of 50% or a credit to attend an upcoming workshop can be issued.
