Ceramic Wall Planter

Service Description

Come build a custom wall-mounted planter that fits your home's aesthetic, and welcomes a new plant into your household! We'll be exploring pinch pot, hand turning, and slab building methods to create a terracotta pot for a semi-high maintenance plant of your choosing. If indoor gardening and adorning your walls with handmade decor are important to you, sign on up! All plants and potting soil, clay and firing costs, and a watering bottle are included in the workshop price. Tools are provided, as well as some light snacks and bubbly water. Previous experience with clay is not needed! What to expect: We'll start off by using a slab to cut out the general shape of our planters, or shape it with pinch pot methods if you prefer. Then we'll move on to adding a back and legs to hold our planters on the wall. Next we'll let them dry under the fan, or add any carved or 3-dimensional designs you'd like! We'll finish by putting colored underglazes on them to add a little pop. Then we'll wrap up, and reconvene for an hour in our second session to add wax to the backs of our planters (to protect our walls from water), and install houseplants to create our finished product!
