Hand carving a bowl is very different then using a power lathe to turn it into shape. Both are extremely fun and use a different set of skills. Bowl carving will be similar to spoon carving but on a larger scale and with an added tool the bowl adze. In this class you will pick from a few bowl designs I have prepared, or you can bring your own idea with you. There will also be serval native Michigan woods for you to choose from Oce you learn the steps to carve a bowl just like spoon carving you can do this almost anywhere and with few tools If we have nice weather on class day, we can do our carving outside in the woods. You can make as many as you want in the time we have during class so you could make a large fruit bowl or a few smaller ones. These also make great handmade gifts.
